The fucked up thing is it worked. And they are allowed to get away with it.

Why? Because the NFL offices are located across the street from the Meadowlands II.

Carlos Rogers is still alive

'Skins Finally Have an Offense

The years of agony appear to be over. With the 455 yards the Redskins posted on the cardinals, they have more yards after two games than Jim Zorn had in a whole season.

The 'Skins lead the NFL in time of possession. They are tied for the lead in offensive plays. Big Shanny may not win us three Lombardi's, but his offense is sure as hell more explosive than Gibbs v2.0. There is no longer a question if we might get a first down the next drive. The question is will we score.

Grossman isn't the story. It's The S.O.S. The Shanny Offensive System. Guys are wide open. Backs gain 175 yards. The QB throws for 600 yards in two games. This system works - and that's the story no one's talking about.

But I got a feeling they will be soon...

The NY Vagiants are hurting - six defensive players are out for the season, and Osi Uminurine is out for a few weeks.

And now, starting middle LB Jonnie Goff is out for the season after he fell doing bumps at practice.

"He was bumping fer sure," said Uminurine. "He loves the bumps. It's really sad."

Sad indeed. Unless your Rex Grossman. The backup is a rook sixth-round draft pick. So whoever plays middle LB for the vaggies on Sunday isn't even on the team yet. I have a feeling Big Shanny's drawing up some plays for the currently-undisclosed-player.

The line is Redskins +3. This should be down to two by Friday...

Geez. What a let down. After months and months of Jason Reid and the Post telling us John Beck is going to be the Redskins starting QB, Big Shanny went and did the unthnkable: Rex Grossman will start Sunday vs the dirty vagiants.

WTF? I thought Beck was a lock?

The reality is Big Shanny went with his gut. The Gut told him Rexy is 20-14 as an NFL starter. He started a game in the SuperBowl. The last game Beck started was a loss vs California in the 2005 Las Vegas Bowl.

So Shanny plays this one conservative. We shall see if it was a good move. But either of these guys is better than McNabb. Let's play some football.

DirtBags to Hold Free Concert at FedEx Field

The DirtBags, the Official Rock'n'roll band of the RAC, have announced they will play a free concert at FedEx Field before The Opener. The concert will honor the almighty B & G and the fallen heroes from 9/11.

"We're gonna take it up to 11," said Lefty, DirtBag bass player. "The Prez says we gotta get the crowd fired up and he's right. All the BS from ESBM is absurd. The Redskins are gonna go ape shit on 9/11. And we are too."

The DB's will have all four original members at the concert: The Prez, Lefty, Larry, & Party Marty. They will rock it from the the Green Lot, B3 at exactly 2pm, EST.

All national news organizations, along with Fox Sports, have been made aware of the concert. Efforts should be made to get to Green Lot, B3 by 1pm to increase chances to see the show.

Beck completed 74% of passes in pre-season

Anyone wanna guess what his completion percentage was his last year at BYU? 69%. He had a 169 QB rating in 2006 - 32 TDs to 8 INTs.

So it's no fluke that Beck is playing well now. The fluke was the 4 games he played for Miami where he had a 62 QB rating. But you wanna know what his completion percentage was that year? 56%. Last year mcnabb's was 58%....

And if you wanna real get jacked, check out the wonderlic QB predictor. Yea, Beck passed that as well. Ron Mexico? Not so much...

The upside on beck is monstrous. If Beck completes 65% of his passes this season, there ain't no way the 'Skins lose more than 5-6 games. The thing that really amazes me is that no one else realizes this...

But like the old bull said, let's sneak up on 'em and fukk em all.

Sav Rocca: Secret Weapon?

Lost in the QB controversy is the pre-season play of one player no one has mentioned: Punter Sav Rocca. Rocca was the oldest rookie in the NFL when he joined the dirty eaggles at the age of 33 in 2007. But he is quick to put that behind him.

"The eaggles are a bunch of sissies mate," said Rocca. "The city of brotherly love? More like the city of lovely brothers. Those dudes ain't right."

While Rocca's punts are much more consistent than, say, Durrant Brooks, only time will tell if he will be a hero or a zero. But right now, he's looking more like Pat Richter than Matt Turk

Collin Cowturd Soils Himself

Cream Team Update: Vick throws three to the dogs

The best team in the history of football took a small step backwards Thursday night as Micheal Vick threw three completions in the Eaggles 24-14 loss to the Squealers. Unfortunately, all of the catches were made by Pittsburg DBs.

In a twist to the never-ending QB saga in DC, a new development has emerged, compliments of the Washington Post: John Beck really is the one the Shanny's want. Beck is The Annointed One. He Who Shall Lead Us To Greatness.

Maybe Beck didn't make it up afterall.

"The Shannys, they love the Beckster," said Molly Magil, Redskins secretary. "They are always saying what a nice young man he is. And does John just eat it up. He is so happy."

So now maybe we know why Grossman was so fired up in the game last week - he knows he's got to outplay Beck by a large margin to play. And it also makes sense why Grossman wanted a one-year deal, when the Redskins were offering more. Grossman knows they fawn over the Beckster, and he's not going to ride the pine for three more years being Beck's backup. Especially when everyone at Redskins Park is in on the gig.

"They always talk about him riding the bicycle in Portugal, too," said Tyree Davis, who works in the Redskins Mail Room. "They loved that - I've heard ole Shanny say it - how great Beck is at pedaling a bike. That impressed big Shanny. It really did."

But the funny thing about how the Shanny's have gone about this is now if the competition is close, and they play Beck, and he struggles when the real bullets start flying, then everyone's gonna want Sexy Rexy.

New rules blow. Sort of.

After watching the first game with the new rules for 2011 I feel ready to make my declaration: These rules are horrible for the game. But they may be good for the 'Skins.

The two biggest are on the kickoff, where the ball is kicked from the 35. So now every kickoff will go in the end zone. Also, the other players on the kicking team can only be five yards back - not 15. So in my mind, this levels the playing field. In 2010 our average was the 29.5 yard line, which was 17th in the league. We finished 6-10. I say this is worth one more win right there.

Plus, if you have a speedy Lil Smurf named Brandon Banks, you can run in out when no one thinks you will - and catch the filthies off guard.

But I really do think this is a BS rule, and is going too far to keep the game safe.

The other rule says all scores will be reviewed. Gimme a break. So every score now we have to add another three minutes of commercials?

Ponderous. That one won't help the 'Skins at all.

I was wrong about Grossman

For the first time in like 30 years I was very pessimistic about the 'Skins chances this year. Hell, I think I had more faith in Danny Weurfel than I did Rex Grossman. But after watching the squealers game, I am changing my tune.

I'm back on the bandwagon. We sure as can win the East.

Grossman is only a part of it. The other part is Tim Hightower, who is for real, and from Virginia. The other part is the O-line - they are younger, faster, and more aggressive than I've seen in a pre-season game since Osaka.

Oh shit. Maybe I am being premature.

But you know what? Osaka was Spurrier who never won squat in the NFL.. The years is Team Shanny, owner of two Lombardis.

Most impressive to me was the accuracy in the passing game. If Grossman could be that accurate for a whole season - a BIG if - and if Hightower can keep averaging 4.8 yards carry, this team might be able to win the East.

So Rex, I apologize. I shouldn't have jumped the ship so quickly.

New Party Deck at FedEx Field

So The Sny, wanting to keep up with geri-curl, has ripped out 5,000 seat in the upper deck and is installing a "Party Deck" where sections 409 -419 (end zone) used to be.

I'm all for a party deck. But at the tippy-top of the stadium? I don't see how this is going to work, nor would I want to be up there all hammered. For one thing, those steps are pretty damn steep. Secondly, how are you going to turn a section of seats in a party deck?

Unless they give everyone their own parachute, I wouldn't go up there.

Eagles hold "player only" workout

Mini-Chump II: The Second Practice Fat Al Missed

The Washington Redskins gathered today for a second mini-chump at a northern Virginia high school where the players pretended to be coach-athletes and ran through some plays in preparation for the soon-to-be-cancelled 2011 season. A surprising 41 players took part in the "practice" - including Rex Grossman who still doesn't have a contract.

"My dad keeps telling me to go get a job at the post office, but I still think I can play," said the QB. "This reminds me a lot of Pop Warner - it's fun. This team definitely woulda won my Pop Warner league."

Sadly, however, only one defensive lineman showed up - Kelvin Golston. Albert Haynesworth was nowhere in sight. There were no coaches stopping him from coming - his suspension is essentially null and void. So maybe he really doesn't want to practice after all.

Beck Works Out With Hankerson

Owners Win - No Football in September

My gut tells me this goes into October. I predict that all of the September games will be cancelled. This would mean we miss two home games and two away games – so that’s good. We would miss the Vaggies and cardinals at home and the cowpukes and St. Louie away. Fuck all those teams.

BUT – our bye week is week five – so in essence we would get one extra week of practice, which could be extremely valuable.

The Triumphant Return of Dexter

The cowfukks drafted only two defensive players for the first time since 1960. So they must think they're defense is hot shit.

Really? The secondary sucks and the lineman are fat. The LBs are so overweight they're more like lbs. Mega slow, and fat pounds 'o' mounds.

The reason for all the optimism? I guess it's because of their new D-coordinator, Josh "Remus" Ryan, who led the Oakland Raiders to zero playoffs before they fired him. Then he went to the Browns who fired him after one year.

If I had to give Shanny a grade on the draft it would definitely would be an A. He didn't take a QB - as everyone predicted - and he got us 12 solid dudes - the most the Redskins have drafted since 1985.

So it was everything it shouldn't have been - hell, he took two defensive players with the first two picks! I can see four or five of these guys contributing right away. So way to go Shanny and Allen. You really are turning this franchise around.

Now if John Beck can actually play we might be okay...

Helu-ava Pick

A player we might be talking about more next season is Roy Helu. The 'Skins traded with the Texans to move from 144 to 105 to get Helu. I think this kid could be good.

If we know anything about Big Shanny, he has a knack for drafting nobody's and turning them into 1500 yard rushers. Helu could be this guy.

But what Helu may have more than anything else is heart. This is a solid dude who may not have the sense of humor of Clinton but he is definitely going to be good in the locker room.

So kudos to Shanny for landing a solid dude.

Apparently 3rd pick Leonard Hankerson's hands are so big his coaches compared him to Godzilla. But the best part is the quote by fellow Miamian Mark Duper:

“My boy Hank is making me so proud,” Duper told the South-Florida Sentinel last fall. “I don’t see any reason why Hank shouldn’t go first round [in the draft]. A team would be crazy not to pick him. I have stumbled upon what is quite possibly the biggest story of the Redskins draft. Hidden in a story from the AP is this:

"When John Beck did come out, I had him as the top-ranked quarterback coming out that year," Shanahan said. "I didn't think it was close, so I've got a lot of confidence in John Beck."

Baker's Dozen

The 'Skins ended up with 12 draft picks - six on defense and six on offense. We mainly drafted LBs, DTs, RBs, WRS, and a lineman and a safety. All positions of need.

But mark my words, unlike 2008, not all of these 12 dudes are making this roster. Time will tell if any of these guys are great. But if we get four starters and one Pro Bowler, I think we'll have done okay.

So that's what this looks like to me: A boring, not-so-flashy draft. A rebuilding draft.

Hail-la-freakin-lulah. It's about time.

Roll Jarvis Jenkins Roll

Bruce Allen doesn't know how The Danny rolls.

Given the draft so far, I would say Bruce won't be here for long. Drafting two talented interior defensive players in 41 picks is no way to please The Danny (Ryan Kerrigan OLB, Jarvis Jenkins, DE). And then a wide receiver (Leonard Hankerson, Miami) in the third round.

Everyone knows Vinnie & The Danny would have taken Tyrod Taylor at #79. This might not end well.

But now the 'Skins have 13 picks - including four in the 5th and four in the 7th. So they have a pick in every round and multiple picks in alter rounds. They should come out of this draft with at least five starters.

Maybe Annie was right. Maybe the sun is coming out tomorrow.

Ryan Kerrigan is a Great Draft Pick

I feel some vindication for predicting that Shanny would trade down. However I NEVER saw Ryan Kerrigan coming. But I gotta tell ya - this is awesome.

Kerrigan is a stud - check this out: On the RAC Draft Video. He's a three-year captain, an all-american, and a fumble-making machine.

On the other side of Orakpo, we now have two legit 3-4 LB's. That's a foundation at defense we can build on. But I still say the Shanny's draft somebody at QB with the #49 pick they got from Los Angeles, err, Jacksonville.

I met Sam Huff in March of 2009 - right before we drafted Orakpo. That day he was lamenting the Redskins lack of good, young LBs. Now we have two. That is sweet action. We are getting better.

The NFLPA has the owners right where they want them. Say what you want about the peace and prosperity of the Upshaw-Tagliabue days, but the reality may be that Upshaw consistently gave up way too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, there's a new sherrif in town. And his name is DeMaurice Smith.

So say goodbye to an 18-game season. And contact in Training Camp. Maybe one less mini-camp per season. When the dust settles, the ruling from Judge Nelson on April 25th will have major implications on the game. All of which favor the players. Which I say is a good thing.

Because aren't the players the ones we root for anyway?

Marty-Ball is Back

Marty Shottenheimer has been hired as the coach of the new Virginia Destroyers, the UFL team based in Virginia Beach. As someone who grew up in Va. Beach and loves football, this is awesome!

The logo, though, I’m not so sure about. Naming a football team after a ship juts seems stupid. If it was a tank, that would make more sense. Or a cannon even. But a ship? Maybe for waterpolo, but for a ground game I think they should have gone with something more infantry. Even the cavalry makes more sense than a ship, and people don’t even ride horses anymore.

But my gut tells me this takes off. Tidewater freaks love football, as is evidenced by the ODU football team that sold out every game and had a winning record its inaugural season.

So here’s to the Virgina Destroyers. Until the ‘Skins come back, this could be the only game in town…
